Rhode Island School of Design
“U.S. News World and Report” takes in a number of considerations when ranking schools and degree programs. They average out the scores in other ranking systems, look at program quality, graduation rates, tuition costs, teacher quality and student satisfaction. Being ranked No. 1 for their graphic design programs, Rhode Island School of Design located in Providence, Rhode Island proves to be a popular favorite. They offer several degrees including a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, a two-year Master of Fine Arts and a three-year MFA. These degrees help prepare students to become effective professionals in graphic communication on multiple levels.
They aren’t just known for medicine and humanities; “U.S. News World and Report” ranks them No. 2 for having an exceptional MFA in graphic design. Yale’s program places students in studio work monitored by faculty weekly meetings and includes five or six-person group thesis meetings on a biweekly basis. Students also learn via world-class lectures, presentations and workshops but are expected to have their own personal computers for use in the university’s labs and in the designated work space reserved to every student.
Maryland Institute College of Art

These degree programs also prepare students for advancing into a number of graduate degrees including planning and information design, interaction design and the doctorate in design.
