Fire science prepares students for careers in firefighting, fire prevention and suppression, fire investigation or administration. University of New Haven

The University of New Haven has a fire science program that is one of the largest in the country. University of Idaho

The fire ecology and management degree at the University of Idaho was the first of its kind and is still one of only three programs in the country to focus on wildfires. Students have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience fighting wildfires and studying their impact in labs and outdoors. The program also partners with state, local and federal agencies that work in the area. Graduates often go on to work with government agencies, non-profits, and businesses that work in the field.
