New York University is one of the largest private universities in the U.S., with over 52,000 freshman applicants vying for one of the coveted 18,000 spots at the university’s Washington Square campus or at one of its 14 sites around the world. With only a 34 percent acceptance rate, applicants can be understandably anxious about checking their application status.
Checking Your Application
If you submit the Common Application and Writing Supplement correctly with the appropriate fee, you should receive a confirmation of materials within three weeks after the NYU application deadline, along with instructions on how to track your status online. If you are missing anything, the University Admissions Office will notify you and give you a limited amount of time to submit the requisite materials.
