Aside from providing exceptional health care benefits, government service jobs also open the door for exclusive college grants and scholarships to federal employees and their families by way of the Federal Employee Education Assistance (FEEA) program. FEEA is a charitable organization of federal employees who provide financial assistance to other federal employees in need. Since its inception in 1986, FEEA has given away more than $9.5 million worth of scholarship money to government employee families.
FEEA - Traditional Scholarship
FEEA's traditional scholarship provides between $250 and $2,500 to college-bound students in need of financial assistance. The scholarship is exclusive to federal government employees and their children. Applicants must be graduating seniors looking to become full-time college students, plan to enroll into an accredited university and either be a federal employee of three years or directly related to an employee of three years.

FEEA-NTEU Scholarship
FEEA and NTEU (National Treasury Employees Union) collaborated in 2006 to include the FEEA-NTEU Scholarship in the list of FEEA's annual scholarships. The FEEA-NTEU Scholarship awards seven grants at $5,000 each. Applicants need only apply for FEEA's traditional scholarship and their applications are automatically entered in for the FEEA-NTEU. The scholarship is highly competitive and only the best applications are selected.

Doc Cooke Scholarship
FEEA administers the Doc Cooke Scholarship to at least one applicant each year. The scholarship is a tribute to David O. Cooke and his 50 years of service to his community of federal employees. The grant awards between $1,000 and $3,000. Like the FEEA-NTEU scholarship, applicants need only apply to FEEA's traditional scholarship to be assessed for the Doc Cooke Scholarship.
