The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), as the designate of the Real Estate Council of Ontario, offers the courses required of those wishing to become licensed real estate professionals in the province of Ontario. Through its Real Estate College, the OREA offers required pre-licensing courses as well as continuing education courses for licensed professionals. In general, anyone wishing to enroll in the OREA Real Estate College must first complete the OREA Real Estate as a Professional Career course before they can take further courses.
Ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements. You must have at least a high school diploma to enroll in any OREA course.
Access your web browser and go to the OREA website.
Click on “Become a Real Estate Professional”.
Click on the name of the course you wish to take. Course options include Real Estate as a Professional Career, The Real Estate Transaction and Real Estate Investment Analysis. Once you have clicked on the title of your course, you can get information on the course fees and delivery dates.
Choose your method of instruction. Most courses are available in three types of instruction: e-learning, correspondence or classroom. You can take e-learning and correspondence classes anywhere, but you can only take classroom courses at the OREA Real Estate College in Don Mills, Ontario.
Apply for your course. Have the name of your course, your desired method of course delivery and your credit card on hand before you apply. Call the OREA at 1-866-411-6732 and provide your personal and course information. You must also give your credit card information for your course fee payment. Alternately, you can apply in person at the OREA Real Estate College in Don Mills, Ontario. If you have enrolled in an OREA course in the past, you can apply through your “My Portfolio” account on the OREA website.
