The computer-based test

Scores from the computer-based Graduate Record Examination (GRE) can be made available to both yourself and the graduate school(s) to which you are applying in 10 to 15 days, according to the GRE website. The turnaround is fast, when compared with the other option, the paper test.

Paper-based test

The GRE available on paper takes a little bit longer to process, as every answer must be scored. It takes approximately four to six weeks for you and the graduate school(s) to which you are applying to receive a score report for the paper GRE, according to the GRE's website.

How long are scores valid?

GRE scores are valid for five years from the test date, no matter how many times you take the test.
