The Graduation Management Test, or GMAT, is mandatory for students who want to attend most universities' MBA programs. Many business schools offering MBA programs require students to have a GMAT score of 600 or higher. However, several management institutes have scrapped the GMAT score requirement and started giving more importance to the candidate's academic achievements and work experience, which the GMAT is unable to gauge.
University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix does not require GMAT or GRE test scores for admission into its undergraduate and graduate programs. For the undergraduate programs, students are expected to hold a high school diploma. If a student does not carry a high school diploma, he would have to take the General Educational Development test as an alternative. For the graduate programs, the candidate needs an undergraduate degree from a nationally or regionally-accredited university or college with cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or more. For international applicants or non-native speakers of English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, International English Language Testing System or the Test of English as an International Communication score is required.
University of Dallas
The University of Dallas accepts Graduate Record Scores instead of GMAT test scores. The university offers regular and online programs. The pre-MBA program is a 13-week preparatory course and introduces students to various basic business principles and concepts. After successfully completing the pre-MBA program, students will be eligible for admission into the Graduate School of Management MBA program.
