A PRIVATE INDEPENDENT LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE FOUNDED IN 1782 AND KNOWN AS THE COLLEGE AT CHESTER. THE NAME WAS CHANGED TO HONOR GEORGE WASHINGTON.
