Wake Forest University founded its medical school in 1902. Wake is one of the medical universities in North Carolina that offers an array of health care programs. For instance, the School of Medicine offers Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree programs, Master of Medical Science (M.M.S.) degree programs for aspiring physicians’ assistants, Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) degree programs in anesthesia nursing and certification programs in medical laboratory science and medical ultrasound.
