The distance education division at Texas A&M University offers an array of graduate degree programs to students with bachelor's degrees who are seeking to further their education. Program Formats

Distance learning courses at Texas A&M University are delivered online through the university's interactive video system. Some classes use a combination of formats. Distance learning students can expect to receive information through online delivery methods, including e-learning through Blackboard Vista, faculty websites, PowerPoint presentations, streamed video lectures, discussion forums and chat rooms. Students who wish to be successful distance learners should have an understanding of basic computer skills, such as using Internet browsers, completing basic Internet searches, using email, and downloading, saving and printing materials found online.

Agriculture and Life Science Degrees

Texas A&M offers online students a variety of master's degrees related to agriculture and the life sciences. Students can earn a Master of Agriculture degree in agricultural development or poultry science through distance learning. Distance education students seeking general degrees can earn a Master of Science degree in mathematics or statistics through Texas A&M's online school.

Education and Human Development Degrees

Distance education students interested in studying education or human development can choose from a number of Master of Education degree programs offered through Texas A&M's College of Education and Human Development. M.Ed degree programs include bilingual education, educational psychology, educational technology, public school administration, school counseling and special education. Students can also earn an M.Ed in curriculum and instruction focusing on general education, elementary education or the teaching of English as a second language. Texas A&M also offers Master of Science degrees in health education, special education and sports management.

Graduate Certificates

Certificate programs offered through Texas A&M consist of 12 to 15 graduate credit hours and usually include four or five classes within a particular field. Students can earn graduate certificates in government related topics, including nonprofit management, advanced international affairs, homeland security and national security affairs. There are also certificate programs in the areas of agriculture, statistics, and regulatory science in food systems.
